Embracing Regional Beauty: Conceptualizing “hotel tt”
“hotel tt” stands as a boutique hotel with branches in Gupo and Seomyeon, nestled within the vibrant city of Busan. Drawing inspiration from the unique spatial dynamics of its surroundings, the design team embarked on a journey to encapsulate the essence of Busan’s natural allure, from the ground level to the panoramic views offered on the 20th floor.
Harmonizing with Nature: Design Philosophy
The vision for “hotel tt” was to create a space that celebrates the region’s distinctive beauty and culture. Departing from the conventional aesthetic of franchise hotels, the design team sought to infuse simplicity with a touch of uniqueness, placing a strong emphasis on natural elements throughout the hotel’s ambiance.
Seamless Integration: Interior and Exterior Harmony
Externally, the hotel incorporates modern and functional materials, while internally, it endeavors to seamlessly blend with its natural surroundings. Instead of relying on extravagant finishes, the design ethos prioritizes the innate sense of place, allowing natural elements to shine through and define the hotel’s identity.
Evoking Coastal Imagery: Spatial Expression
The lobby’s ceiling on the first floor mimics the undulating waves of the sea, evoking a sense of coastal tranquility. Soft, indirect lighting enhances the organic texture of the finishing materials, inviting guests to immerse themselves in the local beauty from the moment they arrive.
Culinary Experience: Bringing the Outdoors In
To enhance the dining experience, the design team incorporated wood-tone finishes and stone tiles, creating an ambiance reminiscent of dining in a forest. Whether on the first or 20th floor, the hotel aims to blur the boundaries between interior and exterior spaces, allowing guests to connect with nature at every turn.
Reflecting Nature’s Harmony: Poetic Inspiration
A poignant poem serves as a guiding light for the design team, echoing the delicate balance between the river and the sea. “hotel tt” Gupo emerges as a tranquil oasis, mirroring the harmonious convergence of land and sea, embodying the philosophy of coexistence with nature in every aspect of its design.
