Illuminating the Spirit of Amnesty International: CHO SHOP by maumstudio

maumstudio presents CHO SHOP, a pop-up store celebrating the 50th anniversary of Amnesty International Korea. Centered around the theme “CHO,” derived from the renowned message of British lawyer and Amnesty International founder Peter Benenson, the store embodies the sentiment that “it is better to light a candle than curse the darkness.”

Symbolic Design Elements

CHO SHOP encapsulates the essence of Amnesty International’s mission through candles and objects adorned with messages of love, solidarity, and inclusion. The candle-filled walls, adorned with hearts, scales, and glasses motifs, exude a serene ambiance reminiscent of Buddha’s tranquil smile, captivating visitors with its profound symbolism.

Evocative Centerpiece

At the heart of the store stands a small house, symbolizing a sanctuary for those who have suffered injustice and wrongful imprisonment. Within this humble abode, Amnesty International’s tireless advocacy efforts against injustice are commemorated, serving as a poignant reminder of the ongoing fight for human rights worldwide.

Conclusion: A Tribute to Resilience

CHO SHOP by maumstudio serves as a poignant tribute to the enduring spirit of Amnesty International and its unwavering commitment to championing human rights. Through thoughtful design and symbolic elements, the pop-up store invites visitors to reflect on the power of light to dispel darkness and the collective effort required to uphold justice and dignity for all.
