Design Concept: Evoking the Frozen

Material and Textural Choices

The design concept of FRISTO revolves around evoking the sensations of coldness, iciness, and exclusivity that are synonymous with frozen products. This is achieved through careful selection of materials, shapes, and textures that embody these characteristics.

Transforming Spatial Limitations

While the programmatic requirements of the project dictated specific infrastructure elements for product conservation and display, these constraints were viewed as opportunities rather than limitations. The interior surfaces of the building envelope were leveraged to enhance the overall design proposal, transforming functional modules into integral components of the spatial experience.

Visual Dynamics: Ceiling Installation

Illusion of Movement

A key feature of FRISTO is the ceiling installation, which consists of pointed transparent pieces arranged in geometric patterns. These elements create an illusion of movement reminiscent of water freezing into ice crystals. Glass rubber panels, suspended from metal rods attached to the ceiling, facilitate this dynamic effect, enhancing the visual appeal of the space.

Interplay of Light and Reflection

Transparent and iridescent elements within the installation interact with light to produce a mesmerizing interplay of brightness and tones. The brand’s logo and iconography, rendered in neon silhouettes, are reflected across various surfaces, imbuing the space with Fristo’s distinctive identity from multiple vantage points.
